In a captivating display of talent and creativity, students from a renowned institution recently presented six theatrical plays as the culmination of a 2-week interdisciplinary brief. The performances, which included attention to minute details such as voice modulation, body language, gestures, and expressions, were a testament to the hard work and dedication of the students.

The plays ranged from mystery and satire to comedy and pantomime, each one offering a unique and engaging story. One of the standout performances was 'A Snitch in Time' by Seedhe Maut, a play about time travel that explores the consequences of altering fate. The play, which blends satire with the theme of time travel, was praised for its captivating narrative and well-developed characters.

Another noteworthy performance was 'A Case of Absurdity' by The Arson Crew, an adaptation of Michael Maxwell's play. The mystery play revolves around a priceless family heirloom that goes missing, providing a private eye character, Jack, with a chance to prove himself. The play was praised for its suspenseful plot and engaging characters.

The Arson Crew also presented 'The Mayhem Motel' by Akashvani. This play, featuring a character named Hector, presents a recipe for mayhem and disaster as multiple guests check into the motel, leading to a chaotic day.

Sutradhara's 'Puss in Boots' offered a refreshing twist on the classic tale, setting it in the American Wild West. The pantomime follows a dancer, his cat, and the town's rescue from a notorious outlaw.

'The Golden Years' by Renaissance of Rasas was a short comedy script about daily life at an old age center, while 'Mediocrity' by Apollo 18 was a comical representation of a girl's journey to discover herself in a mediocre existence.

The students worked closely with faculty and renowned Theatre Artist and Director, Maya Krishna Rao, during their preparation. The collaboration specifically focuses on themes such as migration, integration, diversity, and social issues related to everyday racism and intolerance, as seen in the example of the theater project A.N.D.ers developed by students under these thematic concerns.

The performances had splendid sets, lighting, sound effects, dialogues, and carefully detailed costumes, making for an unforgettable theatrical experience. Each play captured the essence of its characters and themes, as mentioned by Shyam Attreya in his introduction to the performances. The students' hard work and dedication certainly paid off, as the performances were met with rave reviews from both the faculty and the audience.
