St. Peter and Paul Church's Harvest Festival Showcases Community's Generosity

The Harvest Festival at St. Peter and Paul Church in Dösingen was a heartwarming event, marked by the generous spirit of its congregation. The service, led by new assistant priest Raju Malluboyina, saw many visitors admiring the beautifully decorated altar after the final blessing.

The altar was a testament to the community's bounty, adorned with offerings of crops, fruits, vegetables, flowers, seeds, nuts, and a cross-shaped loaf of bread. The parish council members Brigitte Schmid, Gerlinde Obermaier, Katrin Eberle, and Jürgen Hartmann had lovingly arranged these symbols of abundance.

Following the service, sisters Katharina Thiel and Adelgunde Thiel distributed small rye breads as a symbol of thanks. These were not just tokens of gratitude but also a means to give back. The proceeds from the sale of these rye breads will go to the Crescentia Convent, a testament to the parish's commitment to supporting local causes.

The Harvest Festival at St. Peter and Paul Church in Dösingen was more than just a celebration of the season's bounty. It was a demonstration of the community's spirit of giving. The donation from the rye bread proceeds to 'Brot für die Welt' (Bread for the World) is a tangible example of this spirit, showing that even in times of plenty, the community remembers those in need.
