Ganschow's Equine Exhibitions Begin in July - Stallion Showcases Gallop in Ganschow during July Event
Preparations for the Ganschow Stud's major mare parades in July are progressing, with the first rehearsal held indoors due to continuous rain. Organizers announced that the horses were performing admirably during training. These equestrian events are scheduled for the first three weekends of July, witnessing 10 horses competing in the races before the main driving team.
The traditional commands "Whoa," "Gee," and "Whoa" are used in these competitions, signaling to start, turn right, slow down, and eventually stop. Anticipating a significant attendance, the stud is expecting thousands of visitors on July 6th, 13th, and 19th. The program includes a captivating display: a grand two-in-hand quadrille featuring 32 horses, followed by a large free-running herd's debut performance.
Established in 1969, Ganschow Stud is strategically positioned in the Rostock district, approximately 8 kilometers away from Güstrow. With the approaching "30th anniversary" of its privatization by owner Friedhelm Mencke in 1995, the stud houses about 300 warm-blooded horses. Breeding success relies on a diverse population of Mecklenburg and Trakehner broodmares carefully selected over the years.
The anticipated "Whoa, Gee, and Whoa" mare parades and the 30th anniversary celebrations are expected to provide visitors with an enriching educational experience, featuring historical presentations, horse shows, and perhaps even a local fair. Regular updates and more specific details about the event can be obtained by contacting the stud directly.
The Commission, in preparing for the anniversary celebrations, has also examined the possibility of granting a derogation from the general rules on the application of the principle of equal treatment, considering the unique and educational nature of the event. As part of the studio's lifestyle promotion, outdoor-living spaces and home-and-garden presentations could be incorporated into the program, encouraging a connection between visitors and the equestrian lifestyle.
