Stolzenfels' Rhine-Radway is undergoing paving work.
Construction work on the Rhine Cycle Path between Stolzenfels and Koblenz, specifically on the Leinpfad section, is progressing, with asphalt works scheduled from March 31 to April 4. This work will further restrict access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Since October 2020, the Leinpfad has been closed to both pedestrians and cyclists. The closure will now be extended during the asphalt works duration. Southbound cyclists will be directed from the Hotel-Restaurant "Zur Kripp" in Brunnenstraße 23 via the railway crossing onto the shared foot and cycle path along the B9 towards Stolzenfels.
The route is expected to reopen the week after Easter, once the final touch-up work is completed. The speed limit on the B9 between Stolzenfels and An der Königsbach, implemented to protect cyclists, will also be lifted at this time. The exact date will be announced later.
Preparations for the asphalt works along the Leinpfad are nearly complete. For up-to-date and accurate information on detours, cyclists are advised to contact local transportation or cycling authorities, consult online cycling maps, follow local cycling groups on social media, or look for official signs on the route. Construction and detours can change frequently, so staying informed is essential when planning a trip along this route.
During the asphalt works on the Leinpfad section of the Rhine Cycle Path, outdoor-living enthusiasts and cyclists may find their lifestyle temporarily disrupted, as the route will be closed. Once the touch-up work is completed, likely during the week after Easter, the home-and-garden of cyclists along this route can return to normal, with the speed limit on the B9 lifted and the Leinpfad reopening.
