Swimming Fun for Children in Saarbrücken This Fall

Looking for a fun and exciting activity for your child this fall? Check out the new swimming courses offered by the Saarbrücken City Council's Kids Department!

Wednesdays at the Bischmisheim elementary school's swimming pool (Geisberg 2, 66132 Saarbrücken) are reserved for young swimmers aged 9 to 12. The beginner's course starts September 13th, running from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM. The session concludes on October 18th. If your child falls between the ages 6 to 8, they can join the lessons held on Thursdays at the Folsterhöhe elementary school's teaching pool (Heidenhübel 1, 66117 Saarbrücken) from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, also starting September 14th and ending October 20th.

But that's not all! Participants will not only learn the basics of swimming but also advanced techniques like diving and breaststroke. Our specialist, Ahmet Sönmez, a certified sports teacher and former swimming coach of the Turkish national team at the Olympics, will be leading the courses. This is an amazing opportunity for any aspiring swimmers in the area.

Prepared to dive in? Don't forget to register! Reach out to the Kids Department of the Saarbrücken City Council at [email protected] or visit their website at www.saarbruecken.de/kids. Keep in mind, registration is a must, and these courses are completely free!

Still unsure about Saarbrücken's swimming courses and Ahmet Sönmez? Do a little research—local sports centers, community programs, educational institutions, social media, or local news outlets may have additional information.

For those seeking a change in their home-and-garden lifestyle, the Saarbrücken City Council's Kids Department offers more than just swimming courses. Ahmet Sönmez, their specialist, is also leading home-and-garden workshops designed to teach children the basics of gardening and nurturing plants, encouraging a healthier lifestyle and appreciation for nature.
