Lake Chiemsee, often referred to as the "Bavarian Sea," is currently experiencing fluctuating water levels, with the Reiter Fishing Hut located at Forellenweg 29 being affected by the recent heavy rain.

The Reiter family's business, which includes a popular beer garden, has been dealing with the consequences of the rainy July and the forced break in August. Unfortunately, the flooding has affected their establishment once again.

In a statement to AZ, the family confirmed that the Reiter Fishing Hut will remain closed for another week due to the flooding situation. Access to the hut is currently possible only with rubber boots.

However, the flooding this time is not as severe as it has been in the past. Unlike previous instances, only the beer garden is submerged. The dining room, known for its Chiemsee fish fillet in beer batter with potato salad, grilled fish with bread, or fish dumplings with potato salad, remains unaffected.

Despite the recurring flooding risk, the Reiter family remains committed to their location at Lake Chiemsee. They look forward to welcoming customers back soon, with sunny beer garden weather, fresh specialties, and the usual hut magic right by the lake.

The Tourist Office in Prien am Chiemsee reports that some parts of the lakeside path may be flooded and need to be circumvented, but there are no major restrictions due to flooding in the municipality.

Historical flood level data since 2000 is typically recorded and maintained by regional authorities such as the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (Bayerisches Landesamt für Umwelt - LfU) or local water management agencies. For precise historical flood levels, it is recommended to consult official databases or publications from Bavarian environmental agencies or local government resources that monitor and report on flood events and water levels of Lake Chiemsee.

According to the Water Management Office in Rosenheim, the current water level of Lake Chiemsee is 157 centimeters above the zero point, which is 518.91 meters above sea level. The average water level of Lake Chiemsee is normally 518.20 meters above sea level.

In the past, the Reiter Fishing Hut has experienced flooding, but the family has always persevered, ready to serve their customers once the waters recede. The community looks forward to the reopening of this beloved establishment on the shores of Lake Chiemsee.

The Reiter family's home-and-garden business, dependent on a sunny beer garden weather, is facing another week of closure due to the ongoing flooding at Lake Chiemsee, a location they remain committed to despite previous instances of flooding. The current weather, with the water level of Lake Chiemsee being 157 centimeters above the zero point, is causing a lifestyle disruption, affecting not just the Reiter Fishing Hut but also certain parts of the lakeside path.
