Say Hey to Lisbon's Vibrant Art Scene!

Get ready to immerse yourself in the creative arts as the Lisbon Art Collective (LAC), founded by artist Emma Make, shines a spotlight on Portugal's thriving art and illustration scene. From June 9th to the 14th, 17 talented artists—hailing from both Porto and Lisbon—will be spreading their artistic magic at a pop-up shop situated on Rua Maria 66A in Anjos, Lisbon. Be mesmerized by a stunning array of ceramics, original screen prints, risographs, and textiles!

Initially, the collective was created to help share the financial burden of exhibiting artwork overseas. Emma, a native of Cambridge, England, operated the group by only splitting the cost of the table and flight with participants. The profits, however, were always 100% the artist's own. This June, the concept continues strong as artists pay a minimal fee for the shop space and get to keep what they sell. Plus, they'll be there, in the flesh, to chat with you about their work—don't be shy!

On the 14th, LAC will host a small afternoon bash to celebrate the shop's grand closing. Mark your calendars!

Flexible hours: The shop doors will be open from 11 am to 7 pm daily, Monday through Saturday.

Besides this exciting event, Lisbon boasts a rich cultural landscape thanks to various art initiatives. For instance, the city's street art scene is renowned, thanks to groups like the Galeria de Arte Urbana (GAU), dynamically transforming public spaces and hosting workshops[1]. And that's not all—Lisbon's artistic influences include Art Nouveau and Art Deco, as well as contemporary art institutions like Kunsthalle Lissabon[2][3]. Check out upcoming exhibitions and street art projects in the local art calendar or reach out directly to art organizations for more specific information on the rapidly growing Lisbon art scene!
