In an exciting move towards community-led development, the city of Bad Berleburg has announced plans to revitalise the Odeborn Centre and Market Square. This future-oriented neighbourhood aims to become a vibrant, attractive, and multifunctional area that serves as a social and cultural hub for residents and visitors.

The master plan for this redevelopment project has been jointly designed by the city of Bad Berleburg and Prof. Hilde Schröteler von-Brandt from the University of Siegen. The plan encompasses redesigning public spaces, improving infrastructure, integrating green areas, and fostering events and markets that stimulate economic and social activity.

To ensure the redevelopment reflects the community's needs and vision, citizens are encouraged to participate in the planning process. Various avenues are available for public engagement, including public workshops and meetings, surveys and questionnaires, online platforms, and stakeholder committees.

For those who prefer digital participation, experts from the "Kairos - Digital Planning Participation in Bad Berleburg" project have facilitated an online questionnaire. This opportunity is available until Sunday, August 17. Interested individuals can access the questionnaire for the Odeborn Centre at and for the Market Square at .

Mayor Bernd Fuhrmann emphasised the importance of community involvement, stating, "The people of Bad Berleburg are an important part of our city's development." He further explained that the Odeborn Centre will be a lively, modern, and sustainable place, offering a multi-purpose space for living, working, and meeting.

The results from the surveys will be incorporated into the further planning process and will be presented at a future workshop on the new Odeborn Centre in October. For more updates on what's happening in Bad Berleburg every day, a newsletter is available.
