Urban revamp plans: students from OGS of KGS Bensberg craft intricate designs on the Schnabelsmühle wall

In the heart of Bergisch Gladbach, a vibrant new addition has emerged, welcoming visitors to the city centre with open arms. The colorful artwork at the Schnabelsmühle parking lot is the result of a unique collaboration between students from OGS of KGS Bensberg and local authorities, as part of the marketing campaign 'I'm in love with our website'.

Before the artistic work began, the wall was prepared by colleagues from department 6, ensuring a clean and primed canvas for the students' creativity. The painting work, which took place during the first week of summer vacation, was overseen by Yvonne Melcher and Markus Gottesleben from the school, as well as members of the municipal marketing team, including Aleksandra Hepting and Isabel Rastetter.

The artwork features the lettering "Welcome to the small city with the big heart" and numerous small and large hearts, including one made from bottle caps. The team's hard work paid off, as the artwork is now visible from the roundabout, Kunstmuseum Villa Zanders, and the town hall, creating a striking and inviting sight for all who pass by.

Unfortunately, the project faced a minor setback on the first day, with the discovery of graffiti vandalism. However, the quick action of the team ensured that the issue was promptly addressed, allowing the students to start their work on Tuesday.

The marketing campaign aims to increase the love and identification of citizens with Bergisch Gladbach, and the team invites all citizens to participate in making the city more beautiful. Interested parties can contact the municipal marketing team with their ideas for voluntary projects.

This project is just one example of the many initiatives aimed at beautifying Bergisch Gladbach. The city encourages its citizens to get creatively involved and contribute to the ongoing efforts to make the city a more attractive and welcoming place for all.

  1. The artistic wall painting, showcasing hearts and the phrase "Welcome to the small city with the big heart," is not only a part of the home-and-garden aesthetics but also an integral aspect of Bergisch Gladbach's lifestyle, enhancing its overall appearance and fostering a sense of community.
