In the heart of Germany, the city of Dormagen is set to host a week-long celebration of diversity and cultural exchange during the Intercultural Week, taking place from September 21 to 28.

The city's events are a reflection of Dormagen's vibrant and diverse society, with a varied program that includes a city tour, prayer events, a picture book cinema for children, and a concert by the internationally acclaimed guitar duo Tierra Negra.

On September 26, at 8 PM, Tierra Negra will perform at the City Bookstore located on Cologne Street 110. Tickets for the performance, priced at 22 euros, can be purchased at the venue. The event will feature a reading from the book "Our colorful house."

The Intercultural Week's nationwide motto for this year is 'For!', emphasizing the importance of unity and inclusion. This year, around 6,000 events are expected to take place in over 750 cities and communities across Germany.

The city tour, open to young adults aged 18 to 27, will offer a unique opportunity to experience the Roman origins of Dormagen. The tour will start at 2 PM on September 28, with the meeting point being in front of the historical town hall on the Paul-Wierich-Platz. Registrations for the trip can be made by phone at 02133 477802 or online at [www.swd-our-website/tourism/roman-tours-through-the-inner-city].

The Youth Migration Service of the Rhein-Kreis Neuss is organizing a trip to the Garden of Religions in Cologne on September 24.

The Intercultural Week in Dormagen is supported by numerous organizations, including churches, municipalities, welfare associations, trade unions, integration councils, clubs, educational institutions, and migrant organizations. The Council of Religions traditionally invites participants to the prayer event, which will commence on September 21 at 5:30 PM with prayers of different religions at Römerhaus, Cologne Street 36.

Diversity is seen as an enrichment in Dormagen's events during the Intercultural Week, with the city administration, the lower monument authority, and the historical association of Dormagen all participating in the celebrations.
