In the heart of Mühlheim, the city and district of Offenbach, a unique event took place from September 20th to 30th, 2024. The 'Week of Civic Engagement' served as a platform for winning new volunteers and strengthening volunteering efforts within the community.

The communal scene of a 'long table,' initiated by employees of the DRK Senior Center Mühlheim and its volunteer group, attracted attention and invited many passersby to learn more about volunteering. This table, stretching over 10 meters, became a hub of volunteering, with several social organizations presenting themselves.

Mayor Dr. Alexander Krey expressed admiration for the engagement in Mühlheim, thanking all active volunteers. One of the key figures in this volunteer network is Björn Tute, the volunteer coordinator of the network 'Mühlheim Socially Engaged.'

During the event, the network promoted engagement and discussions about the opportunities and challenges of volunteering. Many citizens exchanged information about the work of various clubs and initiatives, exploring possibilities for their own engagement. Some of the participating organizations included AWO Obertshausen/Mühlheim, Budo Club Mühlheim, Hospice Community Mühlheim e.V., MainSterne, the local history association, and the 'Step by Step' association.
